The pronunciation of the particle ED at the end of regular verbs in the Simple Past forn of English may be a bit difficult for some students.
Basically, there are three ways to pronounce -ed:

This sound must be produced with verbs that have a final sound of /p/, /k/, /s/, /sh/, /ch/, /x/, /f/
Examples: zipped - talked - missed - washed - watched - fixed - laughed - sniffed
You produce a /d/ sound.
This sound must be produced with verbs that have a final sound of /b/, /g/, /z/, /dz/, /r/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /n/, /v/ and with wowel sounds
Examples: smiled - enjoyed - maintained - hugged - belonged - advised - snowed
You produce an extra syllable /id/.
