In the poster below you can read names of countries and nationalities and listen to their pronunciation.
Then make a list of the five countries you would love to visit.  Put them in order of importance for you.

Look at the poster below and write two stories about the girl's weekend and about the boy's weekend.
Then record a message (click on the tab that says Record voicemail) saying if you prefer the girl's or the boy's weekend and why (you only have one minute, so practise before recording).

Pronunciation of regular verbs in the past

The pronunciation of the particle ED at the end of regular verbs in the Simple Past forn of English may be a bit difficult for some students. Basically, there are three ways to pronounce -ed:

You produce a /t/ sound.
This sound must be produced with verbs that have a final sound of /p/, /k/, /s/, /sh/, /ch/, /x/, /f/
Examples: zipped - talked - missed - washed - watched - fixed - laughed - sniffed

You produce a /d/ sound.
This sound must be produced with verbs that have a final sound of /b/, /g/, /z/, /dz/, /r/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /n/, /v/ and with wowel sounds
Examples: smiled - enjoyed - maintained - hugged - belonged - advised - snowed

You produce an extra syllable /id/.
This occurs with verbs that end in a /t/ or a /d/ sound.
Examples: resisted - decided - ended - expected - flooded - deserted
